Bre Johnson is an LA native, a Photographer based in Brooklyn, NY, whose work focuses on naturalness and leisure.

In 2019, she received her first publication in New York Magazine, The Cut, documenting a conceptual dinner series founded by LA-based artist Glenn Kaino and chef Niki Nakayama, as well as Bobbi Salvör Menuez's New food project, Spiral Theory Test Kitchen.

The following year, in 2020, she received her second photo feature in the New York Times.

Since March 2022, she has specialized in high-profile events in the music, fashion, film, and art industries in New York City including Brooklyn Artists Ball Made Possible by DIOR; The Met Gala 2025; Thom Browne Opening of Madison Ave Store; Gucci Presents the New York Premiere of the Tiger, a Short Film by Oscar Winner Spike Jonze and Halina Reijn; Pandora Talisman Launch Party at The Halo in NYC; COS Dinner; and Bvlgari & Save the Children Celebrate Partnership with Winter Cocktail at Sutton Tower.

In 2024, PHMuseum featured her among 8 Black Female Photographers to Watch.

In 2025, she was given the honor of becoming a Met Gala red carpet photographer. She photographed Rihanna, Zendaya, A$AP Rocky, Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, Bad Bunny, and Grace Wale Bonner. Her photographs appeared in Nylon, The Cut, WWD, Vogue, and others. 


As a freelance photographer, her focus is on commercial and editorial portrait photography.
